Philip Wagner - Founder

As the founding pastor of Oasis Church for over 25 years, I’ve spent my whole life trying to help people around me. Our church serves our local community in Los Angeles, and has always been concerned with helping the less fortunate. I began talking to my family, friends, and church to rally support. I asked our church to give and we raised funds to help build a clean water well for a village in Malawi. We began to sell Generosity Water bottles to raise awareness about the crisis and funds to build more water projects. As we continued to raise awareness, more funds came in and we helped build and rehab 10 projects in Ethiopia. The project gained momentum and Generosity Water was born.

Jordan Wagner - Executive Director

Jordan is an entrepreneur, passionate about social justice. He started his first business at the early age of 14 by launching an online wholesale store that sold everything from laser pointers to lighters. After high school he founded a real estate and mortgage firm that opened offices in Los Angeles and San Diego, CA and grew to 15 employees. However, after traveling throughout Africa in October of 2008, he was hit with the reality of extreme poverty and how something as simple as water, was killing more people than anything else in the world today. He decided to re-direct his ambition and entrepreneurial spirit to commit the next season of his life to giving clean water to as many people as possible. Since Jordan became the Executive Director of Generosity Water in December 2008, they have funded over 108 water projects in 16 countries giving clean water to over 50,000 people. Jordan speaks internationally about the water crisis and is known for his humorous and inspiring storytelling. He is passionate about seeing the next generation be proactive in addressing social justice issues.

Michael Muniz – Outreach and Events Coordinator

As a two-sport athlete at Davidson College, Michael figured he'd be pursuing a career in sports, but trips to Bolivia, Uganda, and Kenya opened his eyes to the needs of the poor and spurred a desire to help. After rallying enough friends to fund five wells as a volunteer last year, Michael has recently come on as our Outreach and Events Coordinator. Since graduating from Davidson College, Michael moved to Los Angeles, completed Mosaic's Protege Leadership Program, and is currently finishing up a Master's in Global Leadership from Fuller's school of Intercultural Studies. Michael is a great fit for the Generosity Water team and we’re excited to have him on board.

Will Majors

Coming from the great state of Texas, Will thought he was destined for greatness in the entertainment field. His path was changed when his passion for helping others was sparked, when he and his fiancé decided to forgo their wedding gifts and instead accept donations to build a well in Ghana. Since that time, Will has come on board with Generosity Water with a new mission: To be great at giving life. Be generous!

Our Board

Philip Wagner - Founder, Chairman of the Board

Philip Wagner is the Lead Pastor of Oasis Christian Center in Los Angles, CA. He and his wife, Holly, started the church more than 25 years ago. The church now reaches a multicultural congregation of more than 2500 people drawn to Philip’s warm, down-to-earth style. He is passionate about helping the needy, and has been highly effective in raising money to send to various relief groups overseas — nearly a million dollars alone in aid in 2008.

“I want to make helping people a priority. It’s hard to preach to people who aren’t having their basic human needs met, like having water to drink. Jesus said if you give a cup of cold water in his name, you will never lose your reward. That is powerful to me. He put a big value on doing something tangible. Also, I’ve always had a connection to Africa. I’ve been a number of times as part of various relief efforts, but I was looking to do something more concrete. Once you start connecting to meeting people’s very basic needs, it becomes very real.” - Philip Wagner (link – see his story)

"I got involved with Generosity Water because I was struck by the plight of people without clean water and how simple it is to help. I wanted to work on behalf of a charity that created something to generate income for the purpose of funding the provision of water. Working with Generosity Water, I feel more connected to the people we're helping, which doesn't happen when you just send a check." – Jenny Chen-Drake
